Originally from Lexington, Virginia, a small college town in the Shenandoah Valley, I moved to Alaska in 1998 to marry my college sweetheart, Bob Wilkinson.  We met in 1972 while he was a student at Washington and Lee University (W&L).  We lost touch with one another for 20 years, however while attending his 20th reunion at W&L, Bob called my parents to see where I was.  Bob and I commuted back and forth between Alaska and Columbus, Ohio for three years.

After college, I had worked in the banking industry for 22 years, much of it managing wholesale lending portfolios for Bank One in Columbus, Ohio.  Feeling the need to work with my hands, I took  two pottery  classes and was hooked.  Basically self taught in all but the most rudimentary throwing techniques,  I became fascinated with the glazes that were produced in Ohio in the late 1800's and early 1900's by firms such as Weller, Rozane (Roseville) and Rookwood.

I started Two Dog Pottery on 1998 after moving to Palmer, Alaska.  The business took off, and two years later we moved from the basement studio into a newly constructed 1400sf studio that Bob built.   Bob keeps everything running smoothly and maintains all the equipment, he also helps make all the clay that is used.  I couldn't do this without him!

Everyone always asks about the dogs, Allie is an Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue Healer) and Tess is a Jack Russel Terrier, both are spoiled rotten and are my constant companions both in and out of the studio.
